Editorial policy

This page explains how Intellecta's guides and practice material are written, reviewed, sourced, and corrected. It exists so you can judge how much to trust what you read here.

Who writes the guides

Guides are written and reviewed by the Intellecta team. We publish under an organisation byline rather than individual names. When a guide is authored or reviewed by a named contributor with relevant teaching or examining experience, that name will appear on the page itself.

What we write about

We write about exam technique: how to structure an answer, how to manage time, how to interpret a question type, and how the assessment criteria work. This is the area where written guidance genuinely helps, and where we can be accurate without claiming access to information we do not have.

What we do not do

• We do not publish predicted questions or leaked exam content. Anything claiming to be current test material is either false or improperly obtained.
• We do not reproduce past papers. Our practice sets are original material written to match published formats.
• We do not state exam rules we cannot verify. Where format details change or vary by test centre, we say so rather than guessing.
• We do not publish thin pages to fill a topic list. A guide is published when it says something useful, not when a keyword needs covering.

Sources

Claims about assessment criteria, test structure, and timing are checked against the official published materials from the organisations that own the tests. Where a guide describes a technique rather than a rule, it reflects the practices that consistently produce better answers in the work we see, and it is presented as advice rather than as a requirement.

Because official test formats change, guides that depend on format specifics carry a visible updated date. If a date is old and the format has changed since, treat the specifics with caution and tell us.

Use of AI in our content

AI assists our drafting and editing. Every published guide is read and edited by a person before it goes live, and the responsibility for accuracy is ours, not a model's. We do not auto-publish generated pages.

The AI feedback inside the practice tools is a separate system with its own limits, described on the methodology page.

Updates and corrections

Guides are revised when the underlying information changes or when a reader points out an error. The updated date on the page reflects the most recent substantive revision, not cosmetic edits.

To report an error, email support@intellecta.app with the page URL and what is wrong. We would rather fix something than defend it.

Independence

Intellecta is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the organisations that own or administer IELTS or TOEFL. Our guides do not carry paid placements, and we do not accept payment for links or recommendations within editorial content.
